AI Operations Engineer

Urban Oasis is a fast-growing construction and outdoor living company based in Austin, Texas.

We design and build:

Our company is growing quickly, and we believe AI and automation will play a major role in how modern construction businesses operate.

We’re looking for an ambitious, highly motivated AI Operations Engineer who wants to help build that future with us.

This role is perfect for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience building real systems that directly impact a growing business.

The Role

This is not a traditional IT role.

You’ll work directly with ownership and department leaders to identify operational bottlenecks and build AI-powered systems that improve how the company operates every day.

You’ll help create:

  • Internal software tools
  • AI assistants
  • Automated workflows
  • Reporting systems
  • Operational dashboards
  • Scheduling and estimating systems

This is a highly entrepreneurial role with significant ownership and room for growth.

AI & Automation

  • Identify repetitive workflows that can be automated
  • Implement AI tools into daily operations
  • Build AI-powered assistants for different departments
  • Create automated reporting systems
  • Improve operational visibility through better data systems
  • Help integrate tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other AI platforms into company workflows

Internal Software Development

  • Build internal web applications and operational tools
  • Develop estimating and proposal systems
  • Create scheduling and project management dashboards
  • Build integrations between software platforms
  • Develop reporting and analytics tools
  • Support operational process improvement through software solutions

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Work directly with:
    • Sales teams
    • Project managers
    • Operations leadership
    • Field teams
  • Gather requirements from different departments
  • Translate operational problems into scalable systems
  • Document workflows and maintain internal tools
  • 0–3 years of experience
  • Degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Engineering
    • Information Systems
    • Or equivalent hands-on experience

Strong personal projects and demonstrated AI/software work are highly valued.

The ideal candidate may not have the best GPA—but they’ve probably built side projects, experimented heavily with AI tools, and genuinely love building systems.

Construction industry experience is NOT required.

AI curiosity, speed, and execution matter far more than industry background.
